Turbochargers in Diesel Generators

Diesel Generators producing efficient energy conversions from many decades, the development team of diesel engine technology always keen to improve the efficiency factor to maximum in order to provide great power resource accompanied through diesel engine.

There are several advancements being made to improve diesel engine efficiency and reliability, the introduction of turbo chargers in diesel engine is a big limelight because the turbo charged innovation in diesel provide extra efficiency during air suction towards intake system. A turbo charger installed in a engine operates from a radial fan pump drafted near exhaust system, it inducts the energy of exhaust gases which are produced after combustion process. A typical turbocharger contain a turbine and a compressor equipped on a common metal shaft, actually the turbine converts the energy of heat evolvedĀ  during exhaust to rotational force and increased pressure. The induction of excessive amount of air with high pressure and modified air temperature allows engine to generate exceptional mechanical energy.

The use of turbo charger with inter coolers are common in Diesel Engines, these days manufacturers producing turbo-charged diesel generators because diesel engines have no detonation structure due to diesel fuel injected at the end of compression stroke. The feature of self-ignition of diesel itself allow turbo charger to generate high boost pressure than gasoline engines. From a rough estimate the innovation of turbo charger gives 25-30% extra efficiency and power to the engine as a result the engine of any kind mostly diesel enough sufficient to provide high extent of energy.
